Nissan India has launched all-new sedan based on Micra hatchback, it will be sold as Sunny in India. The word 'Sunny' according to Nissan depicts sun god, which also means good beginning in the morning. The model launched in India is 10th generation of Sunny and it made its global debut at the 8th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition in December 2010. Earlier, it was expected that the new sedan will not be sold as 'Sunny' in India because 'Sunny' name was registered with Bajaj.
Nissan Sunny is initially available in only petrol, which features a 97 Bhp 1498cc engine, it generates maximum torque of 134 Nm at 4000 rpm with maximum power of 97 bhp at 6000 rpm. The diesel model will be launched later, it is expected to feature 100 Bhp 1500cc diesel engine. The engine of Nissan Sunny is expected to be very fuel efficient and reliable.
In terms of looks and styling Nissan Sunny is one of the best-looking sedans in India in its class. It looks much better than New Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Vento, Honda City, Fiat Linea and Tata Indigo Manza. The only sedan which beats Sunny in terms of looks is New Hyundai Verna Fluidic, which is at present the best looking
